Emma advises both employers and employees on a full range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. She has particular experience in disability discrimination law cases on behalf of employees as well as sex discrimination, unfair dismissal, breach of contract, equal pay and all other employment law issues.

Her clients include individuals working in education such as teachers, bursars and university professors; civil servants at all levels, lawyers and city executives.

Emma also advises employers with regard to their employment policies, management of employees, redundancies and dismissal procedures. She has advised organisations from Trade Unions to Charities to Local Authorities including the successful defence of a union against a complex equal pay claim.

She has had the opportunity to work on cases which involve the overlap between employment and regulatory work, including assisting with the successful defence of an individual referred to the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

As well as conducting Employment Tribunal cases, Emma acts for clients with cases in the High Court. Recently, she has defended an employee against an injunction application following an alleged breach of a restrictive covenant.

Emma is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association. She qualified as a solicitor in 2004 having initially studied History at Nottingham University and then obtaining a distinction in her legal training at the College of Law.
